The former Director General for labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi in the 2023 general election, Dr Doyin Okupe passed away at 72
Dr Doyin Okupe bid the world good bye in the early hours of Friday
Okupe’s political associates, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed his passage.
Sources close to the family said the former Director-General of Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council was in a critical condition, adding that Okupe has been critically ill for a few weeks before having surgery in an undisclosed hospital.
As of the time of filing this report, his family had yet to confirm or deny rumours of his death.
