INEC has declared
Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has a winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday, 2ist, September, 2024.
According to the results from 18 local government areas, announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Senator Okpebholo had a total votes of 291,667 while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes
Olumide Akpata, of the Labour Party (LP) came third with a total of 22,763 votes.

Meanwhile, the PDP in Edo State has alleged that the results of the election were manipulated in favour of APC .
Dr Anthony Aziegbemi, PDP Chairman in Edo told newsmen on Sunday in Benin that the entries the electoral officers made were totally different from the actual results uploaded on the INEC IREV at the polling units.
Aziegbemi noted that the results had allegedly been inflated in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through deducted votes from the PDP.
