The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across the state in commemoration of the holy period of Ramadan, urging them to sustain the values of peace, sacrifice and compassion associated with the season.
Babatuyi, in a statement signed by the assistant secretary of the Council, Adebayo Adenrele acknowledged the spiritual significance of Ramadan, noting that it is a period devoted to deep reflection, self-discipline and renewed commitment to the service of humanity.
He commended Muslims for their steadfastness and dedication to faith, especially in the face of prevailing socio-economic challenges.
The Council Chairman noted that the values of tolerance, unity and love remain critical in fostering peaceful coexistence and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the people of Ekiti State.
He called on residents of the state, irrespective of religious affiliations, to use the occasion to promote harmony and mutual understanding.
While wishing Muslim faithful a rewarding and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, the Union urged them to remember the less privileged in society through acts of charity and kindness, in line with the teachings of Islam.
