Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Ekiti state chapter, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu to the Board of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and MSMEs award for his massive Contributions to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.
In a congratulatory message, ALGON Chairman, Hon Ojo Oluwasegun Samuel described the appointment and award as a testament to ingenuity and passion of the governor to rapidly grow the economy of the state to international standard where investors will be willing to partner the state.
The chairman underscored the successes the governor had recorded in the areas of connecting many towns and villages that have long being cut off from the national grid , improvement in power supply to the state and his interventions in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises that have not only better the lives of thousands of Ekiti residents but had promoted the economy of the state in less than two years in office to strong determination to bolster development and banish poverty from Ekiti.
According to ALGON chairman, “Governor Oyebanji national recognition is attributed to his exceptional leadership, expertise, cordial relationship with eminent personalities in and outside Ekiti state and his genuine love to rapidly transform the state from civil servants to economically viable State”
Recall that Governor Oyebanji’s appointment was announced during the National Economic Council meeting recently as the representative for the Southwest zone on the Board of Directors for the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), a significant branch in Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Six state governors were nominated from each of the six geopolitical zones to serve as as Board members.
The Chairman reiterated that the appointment of Governor Oyebanji to Board of NDPHC would help tackle aged long challenges bedeviling power sector in Southwest geopolitical zone. Adding that NDPHC plays a vital role in the development and management of Nigeria’s power sector
“The appointment and the MSMES award is a recognition of governor Oyebanji’s policies and programmes that gave room for MSMEs to thrive which culminated infrastructural developments.The administration’s policies and programmes of Governor Oyebanji have put smiles on the faces of numerous entrepreneurs and small business owners in the state thereby fostering economic development and improving their livelihoods”
The Chairman reiterated that Governor Oyebanji’s determination to put Ekiti state on a global map of economic buoyancy needed the cooperation and support of all stakeholders and citizens of Ekiti state.
Hon Ojo prayed God to grant Governor Oyebanji sound health and more wisdom to perform excellently in the new assignment. He assured the governor the unflinching support of all Ekiti Local Government chairmen towards his shared prosperity Agenda.
