The Western Nigeria Security Network code named “Amotekun” has again apprehended nineteen suspects for various crimes in Ekiti State.
The suspects were arrested less than 24 hours after 3 burglars were arrested in Ado Ekiti for stealing BEDC cables.
The Corps during a raid on flash points in Ado Ekiti which include, Atikankan, Oke-Ila and Okeyimi nabbed the 19 suspects.
Out of the suspects, thirteen were arrested in Atikankan for burglary, six were apprehended at Oke Ila and Oke Iyinmi for swindling innocent residents.
While parading the suspects, the commandant of Amotekun in Ekiti State, Brigadier General, Joe Komolafe Rtd, explained that the suspected burglars were those terrorising some communities in the state while the swindlers specializes in defrauding residents.
The commandant noted that after necessary investigation, the suspects would be handed over to police for prosecution.
He reiterated the commitment of Amotekun corps to make Ekiti free of crime and sought for information from members of the public that would lead to the arrest of other criminals in their hideouts.
