The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo has assured residents of the state adequate security of lives and properties. He solicited the cooperation of stakeholders and residents to effectively carryout the task.
The commissioner disclosed this on Monday at the Police Headquarters, Ado Ekiti when the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi led other journalists on a courtesy visit.
The new Commissioner of Police said ,We are going to bring police very closer to the door step of every citizen in Ekiti state, we are not going to do this alone, we have our sister agency that we will work together to make the state safe. The CP stated.
The commissioner added that all the flash points of criminals have been mapped, saying his men have been deployed there. He added that efforts are ongoing to strengthen the joint taskforce that would encompass citizens; ethnic groups to flush out criminals and checkmate herders – farmers clash.
Earlier, the Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi had assured the new Commissioner of Police the support of the union , saying the activities of the command needed to be projected by journalists. He wished CP Eribo a successful tenure.
