Female elders in Ekiti State have declared strong support for House of Representatives aspirant, Chief (Mrs) Olufunke Victoria Owoseni, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The women, who converged in Ado Ekiti, offered prayers and expressed unanimous backing for Owoseni’s ambition to represent Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency 1, describing her as a tested and compassionate leader with a proven record of service.
According to the elders, Owoseni’s tenure as Commissioner for Women Affairs and her role as a Women Leader in the state significantly impacted the lives of countless women across Ekiti, earning her widespread respect and trust. They praised her leadership qualities, dedication to grassroots development, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.




The group also noted that Owoseni has remained a loyal and consistent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), contributing immensely to party growth through advocacy and selfless service.
Throwing their full weight behind her candidacy, the elders called on party faithful and residents across Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency 1 to support her at the primaries, expressing confidence in her ability to deliver effective and people-oriented representation.
The gathering also used the opportunity to pray for the continued success of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election, as well as victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
In her response, Chief (Mrs) Owoseni, an indigene of Ijesa-Isu, expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support, noting that the prayers, encouragement, and endorsement from the female elders serve as a strong motivation for her aspiration. She assured the gathering that she would not betray their trust, promising to deliver impactful representation and uphold the values of integrity, inclusiveness, and development if elected.
Chief( Mrs) Owoseni reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the interests of women, youths, and the broader constituency, pledging to build on her track record of service for the overall progress of Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency 1.
