Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has commended a commercial mini-bus driver, Mr Adeleye Adeniyi, for what she described as a remarkable show of conviction and sacrifice in support of the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Dr Oyebanji gave the commendation in her office while hosting the driver, who recently branded his mini space bus purchased through a loan facility with campaign messages endorsing the Governor’s re-election bid and showcasing key projects executed by the present administration.
The First Lady expressed appreciation to Mr Adeniyi for publicly identifying with what she termed as transformational strides of the government, noting that such voluntary support reflected citizens’ confidence in the BAO administration’s performance.
She, however, urged him not to be discouraged by social media criticism or any form of bullying arising from his action.
“Standing for what you believe in requires courage. Your decision to use your personal resources, even through a loan, to promote what you consider good governance is fascinating and speaks to your conviction. Do not be deterred by negative comments. Focus on the bigger picture and the positive impact you seek to make.” She said.

Dr Oyebanji described the driver’s action as sacrificial, noting that he chose to forgo personal comfort in order to express his support for continuity in governance.
She emphasised that democracy thrives when citizens freely express their beliefs and participate actively in the political process.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Adeniyi explained that his decision to brand the vehicle was borne out of his belief in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership style and developmental agenda.
“I believe strongly that if given another opportunity, the Governor will perform beyond people’s expectations, the projects executed across infrastructure, social investment and human capital development motivated my public show of support.
Some local government council chairmen who were present during the visit also commended the driver’s initiative and pledged their support to encourage civic participation and responsible political engagement.
