The Wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has charged information officers in the state to intensify efforts in showcasing the policies and developmental achievements of the Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji–led administration.
Dr. Oyebanji gave the charge in Ado-Ekiti while receiving the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Information Chapel, who paid her a courtesy visit at her office.
She described the administration as one that has made remarkable impacts across vital sectors of the state’s economy, stressing that the level of development recorded so far has exceeded the expectations of many Ekiti citizens. The First Lady added that the visible transformation across the state stands as a strong testament that another term for the governor would further consolidate and accelerate progress.

“This administration has delivered on its promises to the good people of Ekiti State to a very commendable degree. We have never had it this good. These giant strides deserve sustained publicity, so that citizens remain fully aware of what is being achieved in their interest,” she said.
Dr. Oyebanji urged information officers to continue to propagate responsible and fact-based reports that bring government activities closer to the grassroots. She also expressed her willingness to support the upcoming Press Week of the NUJ Information Chapel, noting that empowering journalists strengthens governance and democracy.
Earlier, Chairman of the Press Week Planning Committee, Mr. Rotimi Feyisina, applauded Governor Oyebanji for his unprecedented interventions in key sectors, assuring that information officers remain committed to effectively communicating government programmes to the public.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Information Chapel, Mr. Wale Obelewaji, reaffirmed the Chapel’s readiness to partner with government in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
He appealed for continuous support from the Office of the First Lady and expressed optimism that the forthcoming Press Week would further enhance the capacity and professionalism of information officers in Ekiti State.
