The lawmaker representing Ido/Osi constituency 1 in Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Fawekun, has distributed cash and material gifts to vulnerable members of the constituency, including widows, aged citizens, market women and the less privileged.
Distributing the gifts in Ido Ekiti at the weekend, the lawmaker said the gesture was borne out of the need to give back to the constituents.
Fawekun said the stipend and material gifts were distributed to provide succour to the beneficiaries.
In addition to supporting vulnerable individuals, Hon. Fawekun said he also provided fuel to commercial motorcyclists, helping to alleviate their operational costs and boost their livelihoods.
The beneficiaries were visibly moved by the kindness, expressing gratitude for the lawmaker’s compassion and dedication to public service.
Some of the community leaders who spoke at the distribution, hailed Fawekun, describing his engagement with the constituents as impressive.
“Hon. Fawekun’s engagement with us reflects his tireless efforts to make a positive impact in his constituency. His focus on empowering the vulnerable and supporting local businesses demonstrates his dedication to community development”, Dr Sola Ogunsina, who is the president of Ido Development Union (IDU) said.
Ogunsina said Fawekun’s thoughtful initiative has brought smiles to the faces of those who need it most, showcasing the lawmaker’s commitment to serving his community.
One of the beneficiaries of the free fuel to commerical motorcyclists, Mr. Ojo Adeuya appreciated the lawmaker’s understanding of their challenges.
“This act of kindness will go a long way in helping us. Hon. Fawekun is truly a servant leader”, Adeuya said.
