As part of 2024 Press Week,
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Ekiti State Council has called for entries into the various categories of Awards from members of the union practicing in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the chairman, Award Committee and NUJ chairman, Mr Tope Babalola and Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, called on journalists to submit their entries on or before 27 September, 2024.
The statement reads, The Award ceremony will be held on 12 October, 2024.
CATEGORIES OF AWARDS:
1. Akogun Tai Oguntayo Political Reporter of the Year Print/ Online
2. Chief Taiwo Olatubosun Political Reporter of the Year ( Broadcast)
3. Hon. Yinka Oyebode Investigative Reporter of the Year (Print)
4.Olu Popoola Investigative Reporter of the Year ( Broadcast)
5.Marcus Ogundola Crime Reporter of the year (Print/)
6.CP Adeniran Akinwale Crime Reporter of the Year (Broadcast)
7.Olalekan Ijidale Yoruba Broadcaster of the Year (Male)
8.Isreal Adesokan Jaruu Yoruba broadcaster of the year (Female)
9Mary Oso Omotosho News Caster of the Year (Female)
10.Jide Ogunluyi News Caster of the year (Male)
11. Mrs. Margaret Agbeyo Women and Children Reporter of the Year (Female only)
12.Information Officer of the Year ( Information Officers Only).
Requirements:
Applicants for this award MUST be a registered member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Ekiti State Council.
He/She MUST have paid the 2024 Practicing fee as required by the NUJ constitution.
Applicant MUST have attended 50% of the congresses (4-5)between January and September 2024.
Applicant MUST be working and practicing in Ekiti State.
GENERAL RULES.
Applicants in the print categories are to submit photocopies of two published works or links to the stories while broadcast Journalists are to submit two copies of materials in a flash.
Applicant MUST indicate categories which the work submitted are meant for.
No work is allowed to be submitted for more than one entry.
Applicant is eligible to apply for as many categories as posible.
All work submitted must have been published or broadcast between January 2024 and August 2024.
Audios and Visuals MUST be submitted in an empty flash which must be enveloped and well tagged.
The statement added that all Materials are to be well tagged and submitted to the NUJ Secretariat, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti.”
