The inter chapel novelty match of the Nigeria Union of journalists, Ekiti state council ends 3: 3 after 50 minutes play on Thursday.
The friendly match took place at ‘BALL AND BALL’, football pitch, Adehun, Ado Ekiti between TEAM SAMO and TEAM OJOMOYELA. At exactly 22 minutes of the first half, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, the NUJ Chairman scored the first goal for team Ojomoyela, a minute after, Comrade Olofe Abiodun neutralised the joy of Ojomoyela’s team, as he shook the net with heavy shot . Two minutes after , the referee, Comrade Dare Daniels blew for first half and the session ended

At the resumption of the second half, after 5 minutes play, Comrade Abiodun Olofe raised the hope of team Samo as he scored the second goal while Ojomoyela’s team fought tooth and nail before equalising 18 minutes after through OPEYEMI. 23 minutes of the second half, an heavy shot from VICTOR gave team TEAM SAMO the third goal making it 3: 2. TEAM OJOMOYELA utilized the five minutes extra time given by the referee to equalize, the saving goal was scored by Kayode Babatuyi and the game ended in 3:3 draw.

Earlier, the former House of Representatives member, Hon Bimbo DARAMOLA who performed the ceremonial kick-off commended the NUJ leadership for the initiative.
He described the match as a healthy avenue to foster unity, friendship, and teamwork among journalists while also promoting physical and mental wellness.
