The Nigeria Union of Teachers, (NUT), Ekiti state Wing has felicitated Muslims across the state as they commence thirty days Ramadan fasting.
The Chairman of the Union, Comrade Bamidele Olaitan Daodu in a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, felicitated Muslims as Allah protected them to witness this year fasting, prayed God to spare them to finish strong to enjoy all the benefits of the spiritual exercise.
The chairman while greeting Ekiti muslim teachers, urged them to adhere strictly to the tenet of Ramadan which includes: fasting which is one of the pillars of Islam, holiness, observing hours of prayers, giving alms to the less privileged and showing love to one another.
Comrade Daodu who prayed that Allah would accept their services and prayers during the Ramadan, however enjoined them to be alive to their duties of impacting younger generation. He charged them to remember the union in their daily prayers for government to improve their welfare.
” I wish you more strength, grace and Allah’s favour as you sincerely embark on this spiritual exercise. Remember that your fervent prayers this period can make government favour us more. I also urge you to pray for adequate peace in Nigeria and Economic recovery for all and sundries to enjoy more dividends of democracy ” The statement concluded .
