Members of the Online Media Practitioners, Ekiti State Chapter have commended the Senator representing Ekiti Central at the National Assembly Abuja, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), for his cordial relationship with journalists in the outgoing year.
While appreciating the senator, Chairman of Ekiti Online Media Practitioners,Comrade Ayodele Abere, said Senator Opeyemi Bamidele being a media friendly politician/ journalist has always been very generous to the journalists in Ekiti State, especially members of the online media.
Abere stressed that the effectiveness of online media cannot be over-emphasized at this period of our nation when cost of printing newspapers, magazines and running Radio and Television stations are almost unaffordable due to high cost of newsprints, diesel and other materials.
According to the Chairman, “Currently, most of the radio stations can no longer operate for long hours due to power outage and high cost of diesel in the country.”
Adding that , “MOB means well for everybody. He is one of the Senators that has always been paying his dues as expected. Very friendly, generous and supportive to journalists in the State and that’s why we will continue to rally round him”.
The leadership of the cyber journalists in the State also said MOB’s constituents appreciated him for providing dividends of democracy to them
Abere pledged the support of online media practitioners to Senator Bamidele Opeyemi”s second term in the National Assembly by projecting all his political activities using the various online media platforms in the State. Adding that God will continue to remember him for good in all his endeavours.
Comrade Ayodele Abere, called on all other contestants in the State to emulate Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, who holds journalists with high esteem by imbibing the habit of generous donation towards the Online Media Practitioners in Ekiti. Just as he equally sought for the involvement of his members in all their campaigns and other political activities for adequate coverage and reportagè.
Abere who is also the Chairman, Federated Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State, called on the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to give recognition to the members of the Online Media Practitioners in the State by carrying them along in his administration with the promise that they will continue to project his activities in a good manner.
