The Hon. Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ekiti State, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, has again enjoined stakeholders to intensify efforts in mobilizing the eligible citizens to register for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.
Hon. Omoseyindemi restated this on Thursday during a stakeholders meeting held at the Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.
According to the REC, the exercise which began on 25 August 2025, has been peaceful and orderly across the state. Adding that the first phase is expected to run until 10 December 2025.
He therefore urged eligible members of the public to update their details including changes of names, addresses, and polling units, before the end of Phase One.
Noting that the claims and objections would hold on 15 December 2025, which he described as a crucial step towards ensuring transparency and accuracy of voter data, he however encouraged stakeholders to participate actively and monitor the process for possible irregularities.
While appealing for continued sensitization to ensure wider participation. Dr. Omoseyindemi also disclosed that Phase Two of the CVR will commence on 5 January 2026, providing another opportunity for citizens who could not register during the phase one.
He emphasized that the success of the CVR depends on collaboration and vigilance, urging partners to keep informing the public and build confidence in the process.
“Your engagement is vital. Help us drive participation, observe the data review process, and ensure transparency,” he urged.
The REC reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to running a free, fair, and credible registration exercise as he thanked stakeholders for their support and orderly conduct so far.
In attendance at the meeting are; members of various political parties, civil society organizations, media bodies, and community leaders.
