The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo has said Programmes and policies of his Ministry would help secure flourishing career for the youths.
The commissioner who reiterated that youths constituted seventy percent of Ekiti population needed to be empowered through direct employment and skills acquisition programmes that would position them well in the scheme of things.
Hon. Adesola gave the assurance while interacting with the Journalists in his office on Monday. He said his Ministry would partner relevant Organisations to solve the mirage of challenges facing Ekiti State youths, saying Government alone could not give adequate attention to the yearnings and aspirations of the youths
Explaining ways to make far- reaching impacts on the youths, the commissioner said the youths would be taught to be technology savvy, promising to scale-up skills acquisition programmes and engage them in mentorship programmes on Agriculture through FADAMA and various vocations.
Adding that the youths would be fully engaged in productive ventures to dissuade them from taking drugs that would harmper the development of Ekiti State.
The commissioner assured that Government is working hard to bring all relevant youth bodies in the state to relate and work harmoniously with one another. Saying, when the youths are at peace, the state is safe.
Earlier, the commissioner had sought the Support of the media professionals to help project his programmes, plans and policies which he said are in tandem with the lofty developmental programmes of the State Governor.
The Journalists advised the commissioner and appreciated him for the interactive session which had cemented mutual working relationship that would have positive impacts on the youths.
