The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has extended support to children and young girls at the Transit Home for victims of Gender Based Violence in Ado-Ekiti through the donation of essential items aimed at improving hygiene, welfare, and general living conditions at the facility.
The donation was presented on behalf of the First Lady by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Peju Babafemi. Items donated included hundreds of plastic chairs, sanitary towels, and other welfare materials designed to enhance comfort and address the personal needs of the residents.
Mrs. Babafemi explained that the gesture underscores Dr. Oyebanji’s dedication to the wellbeing of vulnerable groups and her continuous efforts to champion the cause of children, especially young girls who require greater care and protection.
According to her, the donation reflects the First Lady’s supportive and nurturing environment for children in government-run facilities, while also fulfilling promises previously made to the management of the Transit Home during her last visit to the facility.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Olusola Femi-Adeluyi, expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Oyebanji for the sustained support and for prioritizing the welfare of vulnerable children in the state.
She noted that the latest intervention will go a long way in improving hygiene and comfort within the facility, while boosting the morale of the young beneficiaries.
