The Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon Gold Adesola Adedayo, has felicitated Governor Biodun Oyebanji over twin awards conferred on him by two prominent National print media : Leadership and Daily independent Newspapers for his distinctive and exemplary leadership style.
Adedayo said the awards further corroborated the fact that Governor Oyebanji has not failed in leadership and that his midas touches to launching Ekiti on the world’s map as one of the fastest growing economies, has garnered national attention and respect.
While the Leadership Newspaper bestowed the “Best Governor of the Year Award” on Governor Oyebanji on Thursday, February 12, the Daily Independent Newspapers will garland him with the Best Governor of the Year on Infrastructure at a later date.
Dazzled by the multiple honours, the commissioner, in a statement released in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, said the Governor’s multiple celebrations loudly attested to the fact that Ekiti electorate made the right choice in 2022 governorship poll.
Adedayo exuded confidence that Ekiti people would repeat the same electoral feat in the June 20 poll, by massively reelecting the governor to be able to consolidate democracy dividends for the populace with his selfless and sacrificial leadership that is now being relished globally.
The Commissioner showered encomiums on Governor Oyebanji for catapulting Ekiti’s economic fortunes to an enviable pedestal through highbrow projects like the Ekiti international cargo airport, reconstruction of several road networks, construction of Ado Ekiti flyover and expansion of scholarship and bursary awards to students.
Adedayo added that the governor has made the state a cynosure of all eyes via other enigmatic deliveries, including: building of multi billion sports complex, construction of Ekiti international cultural centre, employment of over 25,000 into the formal and informal sectors of the economy, among other priceless contributions he engendered to make Ekiti greater.
“On behalf of my family, the Ministry of Youth Development and myriad of youth population in Ekiti State, I congratulate Governor Biodun Oyebanji on this memorable feat of double awards’ conferment on him to honour his immeasurable and priceless contributions to the development of our dear state.
“I am elated that your efforts were being celebrated, not only in Ekiti,but across Nigeria and the global community. With all these good things happening under your reign, it was apparent that Ekiti has not made a mistake in electing you in 2022.
“I am quite confident that the same feat will be repeated in the coming governorship election when Governor Oyebanji will be reelected for second term and break the jinx as the first to be elected back-to-back in Ekiti’s political history.
“I also congratulate Ekiti citizens at home and in the Diaspora for their support and for having the electoral intuition to make the right choice through the ballot”.
As a motivation, Adedayo tipped Oyebanji as the best performing governor in Nigeria in agriculture, saying attracting over 5,000 graduate youth into farming within a spate of two years worth being celebrated.
He commended the governor for turning criminal-infested sprawling forests at Ipao -Oke Ako and Emure-Eporo axis into farm settlements and viable farming hubs, where thousands of youths are gainfully engaged in production.
“I believe Governor Oyebanji deserves another award as the best Governor in agriculture. The gains of the farm settlements and youth attraction into farming made the state to be rated as the least on the table of food commodities’ price inflation in the country in the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years”.
