Ekiti State Government has rewarded the best performing Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Internal Generated Revenue(IGR).
Speaking during an event organized by Ekiti State Revenue service, Governor Biodun Oyebanji appreciated the management team and staff of EKIRS, especially the Chairman, pastor Olaniran Olatona for their commitment and efforts towards improvement on the IGR of the state. He However tasked the Revenue service to block all leakages in the civil service for more revenue to the state.
The MDAs rewarded are : Ministry of Justices, Bureau of Lands Services, Housing Corporation, Ministry of Trade Investment and cooperative, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Directorate of Farm Settlement, Ministry Of Education, Signage and Advertisement, Office of surveyor General and that of the Accountant General.
Motorcycles and other valuable items were presented to them to serve as encouragement and reward for hard work during a programme Organised in Ado Ekiti by Ekiti State Revenue Service to Review Performances of Ministries, Department and Agencies of Government
Earlier the Chairman of EKIRS, Pastor Olaniran Olatona noted that the rapid growth in the state IGR was not achieved by EKIRS alone but with the tireless efforts of MDAs in the State and urged the under performing ministries on revenue generation to work hard and strategize to contribute to the development of the state through revenue generation, saying revenue generation is the lifeblood of state.
Pastor Olatona explained that EKIRS would collaborate with Ministries, Departments and Agencies to embrace digitalisation, inter agencies collaboration in revenue collection that would stop leakages and improve the internal generated revenue.
In Separate interviews, some of the representatives of the best performing MDAs, including commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs Tayo Adeola expressed happiness over the recognition, saying such would spur them to double efforts.
