The Alumni Association of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has donated electronic gadgets worth over #15 million to fast-track the processing of transcripts of graduands of the institution.
In a statement by Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs,
Bode Olofinmuagun revealed that
the gadgets are: (10) computer sets with UPS, printers, scanning machine and photocopier.
The statement reads, The Alumni Global President, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, reiterated the determination of the Alumni Association under his leadership to continue to give back to its alma mater. He further explained that the procurement of the materials for the University was a fulfilment of part of the promises he made while contesting for the position of EKSU Alumni President.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association, Dr. Olawale Jegede stated that the association has been looking for ways to complement the efforts of the university management to ensure quick processing and release of academic transcripts.
The BOT Chairmn stressed that the provision of the materials had provided a good opportunity for the association to support the institution in order to prevent the delay in processing transcripts
While delivering the materials to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Fasua, Chairman of the Eminent Persons Group described the gesture as a tip of the iceberg saying more interventions are on the way.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Edward Olanipekun appreciated the kind gesture of the Alumni Association and promised that the materials would be utilized judiciously while
he charged the end users to properly maintain the gadgets
