The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun has commiserated with the immediate family of Dr. Olu Ajayi, the Ewi in Council and Ado community on the demise of the Odoba of Ado Ekiti, High Chief (Dr) Alex Olu Ajayi.
The Vice Chancellor prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and prayed that the Almighty God would grant the family and well wishers of the deseased the fortitude to bear the loss.
In a statement made available to journalists by Head, Directorate of information and Corporate Affairs, Ekiti State University, Bode Olofinmuagun said the management of the institution
received with rude shock, the news of the passage of the Odoba of Ado Ekiti, High Chief (Dr.) Alex Olu Ajayi.
While commending the roles of the Odoba, “Professor Olanipekun described High Chief (Dr.) Olu Ajayi as a great philanthropist and a benefactor of the university who impacted positively on his immediate environment, especially during the developmental stage of the university by donating his personal property as the Administrative building of the university to ensure its effective take off.
“Adding that he would be greatly missed”
He noted that the late Chief was a good community leader and an accomplished public servant who rose to the peak of his career.
In recognition of his contribution to the development of the university, the late High Chief Alex Olu Ajayi was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Public Administration (honoris causa)
