The immediate past Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for exhibiting respect for the populace by seeking their inputs for the composition of the 2026 budget proposal.
Adedayo described the gesture as part of the ways to promote inclusive governance and return power to the people, which will bolster the second term ambition of Governor Oyebanji.
The All Progressives Congress chieftain said this in a statement on Friday, commending Oyebanji’s Town Hall Meeting/Stakeholders’ Engagement towards the preparation of the 2026 Budget, held in Ijero, Ise/Orun and Otun Ekiti, located across the three senatorial districts of the state .
Adedayo added that Governor Oyebanji had with this action elevated populist and participatory democracy in the state, where the people easily take ownership of government and order their projects according to priorities.
He said the groundswell of support and commendations to appreciate Governor Oyebanji’s stunning performance confirmed that his style of leadership is indeed inclusive, transparent, and truly represent the people’s yearnings.
Adedayo saluted Governor Oyebanji for implementing the 2025 appropriation Law to 75 percent, which he said signposted that the government is diligent in execution of its fiscal responsibilities.
The former commissioner clarified that Governor Oyebanji has dismantled the endemic oligarchy in Ekiti governance and fully returned participatory democracy, where all the citizens are considered as strategic partners of development.
“I am indeed elated that the voices of traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, student leaders and other stakeholders, further attested to the Governor’s commitment to participatory governance and satisfactory performance rating .
“The overwhelming support expressed by the people of Ekiti North, South and Central Senatorial Districts, has once again underscored the fact that Governor Oyebanji’s second term is not only secured, but divinely ordained”.
The former commissioner added that the Town Hall Engagement reaffirms the Oyebanji’s administration’s dedication to ensuring that the 2026 budget reflects the genuine needs and aspirations of the people, thereby sustaining the Governor’s vision of shared prosperity for all Ekiti citizens.
