Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the appointment of Prof. Ademola Alabi Popoola as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the newly designated Thomas Adewumi Teaching Hospital, Omu-Aran.

Press Secretary Ministry of Health, Kwara State noted that the appointment comes on the heels of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Kwara State Government and Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, which formally upgraded the General Hospital, Omu-Aran, to a teaching hospital for the University.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, described the development as a strategic move to position the hospital for excellence in medical education, research, and service delivery.
She noted that Prof. Popoola’s appointment reflects the government’s commitment to providing visionary leadership that will elevate the University’s medical training programmes while significantly expanding access to quality healthcare services for the people of Kwara State and beyond.
“The AbdulRazaq administration remains steadfast in its determination to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous future for all citizens,” Dr. El-Imam added.
