The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has approved the appointment of 3 new Headmasters General for Primary Schools across the state.
The new appointments which covers the three Senatorial Districts in the state has Mrs. Monisola Oguntamore appointed for Ekiti Central, Mr. Isaac Ogunleye for Ekiti South and Mrs Bola Omotoso for Ekiti North.
The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Femi Akinwumi who gave the information in Ado Ekiti said the appointments demonstrate Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to strengthening and repositioning the basic education sector as well as improving service delivery in Ekiti State.
Prof. Akinwumi also noted that the appointment showcase the governor’s efforts to appoint experienced individuals to key positions as part of the shared prosperity of his administration.
The SUBEB boss appreciated the governor’s gesture, adding that 5 new primary schools were recently established in Ikere Ekiti to improve access to basic education among children of school age and also meet the demand and yearnings of various communities in the town for qualitative basic education, noting that the move will further reduce the out of school children phenomenon in the state.
He added that the state government will continue to restructure its primary schools to full basic schools comprising of ECCDE to Junior Secondary Schools for optimal UBE delivery.
The appointments according to the SUBEB Chairman take immediate effect.
