The School of Business Studies of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, has honoured the Chief Executive Officer of 101 life style and luxury, Mr Tolulope Ibi- Oluwatoba with Entrepreneurship Award of Excellence
Mr TOLULOPE IBI- OLUWATOBA was honoured at the 13th International Conference with the theme: PATHS TO NIGERIA’S NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND GREATNESS : VIEWS AND PERSPECTIVES organized by School of Business Studies of the Polytechnic on Wednesday.
The management appreciated Mr Ibi -Oluwatoba for his numerous contributions to the school of Business of the institution and community development across Ekiti state. Adding that his business initiative has not only helped engaged some youths to make decent living but added to economic viability of the state.
Responding, the recipient of the award ,Tolu Ibi- Oluwatoba thanked the management for finding him worthy of the honour, he promised to give one hundred thousand naira,(#100K) to the best student in the School of Business Studies. While his colleague, the Chief Executive Officer,CEO, of Starleg also promised #50,000 to the best student.
The CEO of ‘101’ luxury lounge and hotel, situated at Adebayo Ado Ekiti, urged the students to make effective use of technology to advance their studies, adding that they should explore the practical orientation of the institution to make ends meet, saying that relying on white collar jobs could be disappointing, considering the economic quagmire of the country.
In an interview, the award recipient said” I thank God and the management of this institution for counting me worthy for the award. I feel so delighted and honored to get this award. There are so many youths who are doing exceedingly well in their respective businesses, but for the organizers of the award to find me worthy, I appreciate them”
Mr Tolulope said Ekiti state is a virgin land with a growing economy. enjoined the youths to explore and be legitimate in whatever they are doing, and prayed God to bless their hustles. He dedicated the award to Nigerian youths.
Tolu Ibi- Oluwatoba, a role model to the youth wing , a progressive and philanthropist who has impacted thousands of lives in and outside Ekiti state. He has equally contributed to the development of many communities in Ekiti state .
Earlier, the Rector, The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Engr. Dr.Temitope Alake while declaring the conference open commended the organizers, adding that the conference was a solution-driven initiative, considering the myriads of challenges bedeviling Nigeria.
The Polytechnic helmsman expressed confidence that all the resource persons possess competence and expertise to intellectually engage the participants and guests with a view to joggling the nation to proactive actions for national development and greatness.
“It’s obvious that the nation’s economy is currently experiencing unprecedented turbulence and every citizen is feeling the uncomfortable heat. Hardly would you see smiles on the faces of people these days because things are extremely difficult.”
He advised the government to shift attention from the monotony economy to the multi-economy system, tasking the Government to encourage local Enterprises, skill acquisition, invest in agriculture and restructure governance by bringing government to the people at the grassroots.
The Rector further urged the government to engage the academic community in policy planning, formulation and implementation.
