The Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area, Ilupeju Ekiti, Hon Olusola Michael Oniyelu has commended Ekiti state Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for donating an Hilux van to the LCDA ‘AMOTEKUN CORPS.
The chairman gave the commendation at the monthly Security and Intelligence Meeting (SIM) of the council, held on Tuesday at the LCDA Secretariat. He said the donation of the van would enhance the operation of Amotekun and other sister agencies to rid-off criminal activities from Ifeloju communities.
In his words ” I am elated that Ifeloju LCDA, Ilupeju Ekiti benefited from the distribution of security vans by the Governor. I sincerely appreciate the Governor, this gesture would aid the security officers to do their work effectively.”
While reiterating his commitment to adequate security of lives and properties of inhabitants of the LCDA, the council boss tasked residents to always report suspicious movements and activities around the communities to relevant authorities.
At the meeting, security officers shared their experiences, reviewed security architecture of the LCDA, brainstormed on ways to further strengthen security in the area and they made some demands from the council boss for effective operations.
Responding, Hon Oniyelu, assured the security officers of his unflinching support to making Ifeloju safe from criminal activities. He said , “There can’t be meaningful development if security is not prioritized and adequately supported”
Participants at the meeting, include: the LCDA management, HRM, Oba Ogundeyi Joseph, the Owajumu , Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security Civil Defense Corp, Nigeria Army, Directorates of State Security (DSS), S. I. D, Ifeloju Lion Squad, Amotekun among others, renewed their resolve to ensure adequate security of lives and properties of the LCDA.
