The Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Olusola Michael Oniyelu, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, on the occasion of his 61st birthday, describing him as a visionary leader whose policies permanently strengthened grassroots governance in the state.
In congratulatory statement made available to journalists, Hon. Oniyelu expressed profound appreciation to the former governor for the creation of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ekiti State, noting that the initiative brought governance closer to the people and enhanced inclusive development at the community level.
The Ifeloju LCDA chairman described himself as a direct beneficiary of Fayemi’s foresight, stressing that the establishment of LCDAs opened leadership opportunities, deepened democratic participation and accelerated development in previously underserved areas.
“Dr. Kayode Fayemi demonstrated uncommon foresight by decentralising governance through the creation of LCDAs. This bold step not only strengthened grassroots administration but also empowered leaders and communities to take ownership of their development,” Oniyelu said.
He further applauded Fayemi’s transformational strides in Ekiti State, noting that the former governor laid a solid foundation in infrastructure, human capital development, institutional reforms and governance systems, which he said were deliberately handed over to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for consolidation and the deepening of good governance.
According to him, the seamless transition and continuity of policies under the current administration remain a testament to Fayemi’s commitment to sustainable development rather than short-term political gains.
Hon. Oniyelu wished the former governor continued success as he advances in age, praying for good health, renewed strength, wisdom and long life, while expressing confidence that Fayemi will continue to contribute meaningfully to national development and democratic growth.
“As Dr. Fayemi marks his 61st birthday, On behalf of the good, loyal and progressive people of Ifeloju LCDA, Ilupeju Ekiti, I celebrate a leader whose legacy of grassroots empowerment and good governance will continue to speak for generations. May God grant him many more years of impactful service to humanity,” he added.
