The Executive Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ilupeju Ekiti, Hon. Olusola Michael Oniyelu, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the development of Ilupeju Ekiti and its environs.
He made this known on Friday when he donated a set of executive chairs to the Apeju’s Chamber at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade, the Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti.
Hon. Oniyelu said the gesture was borne out of his love for Ilupeju Ekiti and his resolve to support the traditional institution that continues to promote peace, unity, and progress in the community.
According to him, the idea to equip the Apeju’s Chamber with befitting furniture came after he visited the palace of a prominent monarch outside Ekiti State. “I realized that our revered Apeju deserves the best. Ilupeju is dear to my heart, and I will continue to contribute my quota to her growth in every sector,” he said.
The council boss appreciated the Apeju-in-Council for their prayers, support, and wise counsel since the inception of his administration. He urged them to continue to draw his attention to areas that require urgent government intervention, assuring that his doors remain open to initiatives that would benefit the people of Ilupeju Ekiti and the entire LCDA.
Hon. Oniyelu assured the gathering that his administration would not relent in its mission to bring development closer to the people. “Our dream is to make Ilupeju Ekiti a model community where every citizen can thrive. We will continue to work with our royal fathers, stakeholders, and residents to achieve that vision,” he affirmed.
In his response, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade, the Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti, lauded Hon. Oniyelu for his kindgesture and unrelenting passion for the development of his hometown.
The monarch, joined by his second in Command , Obanla of Ilupeju Ekiti, His Royal Highness, Sunday Ogunsola, described the council chairman as “a glorious son of Ilupeju Ekiti” whose developmental strides have distinguished him among his peers.
“The donation of these executive chairs is more than just a gift; it symbolizes unity, progress, and respect for our traditional institution. Hon. Oniyelu’s actions have continuously proven that Ilupeju has a son who truly loves his people,” the monarch said.
Other members of the Apeju-in-Council, including High Chief Amos Ogunbiyi (Oloja Egosi) and Chief Mrs. Florence Fasanmi (Eyelobinrin of Ilupeju Ekiti), expressed deep appreciation to the council boss. They offered prayers for him and his team, wishing the LCDA elevation to a full-fledged local government in due time.
The Apeju also offered royal blessings to Hon. Oniyelu and prophesied greater accomplishments ahead, praying for all sons and daughters of Ilupeju Ekiti who continue to contribute to the town’s growth and positive image.
The donation ceremony, which took place during the Apeju-in-Council meeting, was filled with joy and songs of thanksgiving. The chiefs and palace attendants expressed gratitude to God and praised the chairman for his continuous support to the traditional institution.
