The Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ilupeju-Ekiti, Hon. Olusola Michael Oniyelu, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his unanimous affirmation as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 governorship election in the state.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, Hon. Oniyelu described the governor’s affirmation during the APC primary election held on October 27, 2025, at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, as a clear demonstration of the people’s trust and confidence in his purposeful and impactful leadership.
He commended Governor Oyebanji for his peaceful disposition to governance, which he said has not only endeared him to the people of Ekiti State but has also brought unprecedented development across the state and projected Ekiti positively on the global map.
According to Oniyelu, the peaceful and unanimous endorsement of Governor Oyebanji by all 885 accredited delegates at the primary election represents a new chapter in the political history of Ekiti State, signifying maturity, unity, and recognition of performance above politics.
“The collective decision of our delegates to affirm His Excellency as the sole candidate of our great party is a reflection of the governor’s outstanding achievements and the people’s desire for continuity,” Oniyelu stated. “This gesture not only recognizes good performance but also appreciates it, while expressing a collective yearning for sustained development and the well-being of our people.”
The council boss highlighted some of the governor’s major achievements, including massive rural road construction, rehabilitation of schools and health facilities, empowerment of artisans and youths, expansion of the state capital infrastructure, and enhanced local government autonomy, describing them as tangible proof of a government that listens and delivers.
Hon. Oniyelu further urged residents across Ekiti State to continue to cooperate and support Governor Oyebanji as he consolidates on the progress made during his first term.
He assured that the Ifeloju LCDA would remain firmly behind the governor, mobilizing support at all levels to ensure a resounding victory in the 2026 governorship election.
“Governor Oyebanji’s leadership has shown that governance is not about forcing projects on the people but allowing citizens to actively participate in shaping development priorities. His model of participatory governance is one that other states can emulate,” Oniyelu emphasized.
The chairman prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength, and guidance for Governor Oyebanji to lead Ekiti State to greater heights and deliver more life-changing programmes in his second term.
