The leadership of Ilupeju Youth Development Association has honoured the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Agbeyewa farms, Oska Seyi Aiyeleso and Corps Commandant, Mrs Ann Kemi Oladayo-Odeleye for providing job opportunities for several youths of Ilupeju Ekiti in Agbeyewa farms and Federal Road Safety Corps. .
The president of Ilupeju Youth Development Association, Engineer Femi Fagbemi disclosed this on Saturday at Ilupeju Ekiti while presenting awards of excellence to the duo .
Engineer Fagbemi applauded the contributions of the duo towards shaping lives of Ilupeju youths by giving them a brighter future. He said” Your leadership has been a beacon of hope, inspiring several individuals to excel, you ‘ve helped some of our youths to navigate life’s challenges and unlock their full potentials. Your influence has been a game changer and we are forever grateful”
While appreciating the awardees, Engineer Fagbemi reiterated the support and contributions of Mrs ANN and Oska towards youth empowerment at all times, urged them not to rent but roll their sleeves up and continue to unlock doors of opportunities for the younger ones, saying posterity will judge them right . He prayed to God to continue to strengthen and uplift them in their chosen careers.
While acknowledging the support of several sons and daughters of the town who have in one way or the other assisted the youths, Engineer Fagbemi said “we shall continue to celebrate you in batches because of our lean purse. You are not forgotten and I want to tell you we are not ingrate but the two personalities we are celebrating today have done wonderfully well for the youth body. Our youths are fixed into good establishments. He who gives job gives life”Engineer Fagbemi stated
Also, the youth president presented financial assistance to thirteen brilliant but indigent students from different tertiary institutions across Nigeria. According to the president, “we are aware of the large number of our students who are doing well in their studies but are financially handicapped, we have decided to pick thirteen of them: one student from each quarter in Ilupeju Ekiti was given #40, 000 each to support their academics. It’s our belief that this little assistance will help them solve little of their academic financial problems. I enjoin you to be diligent in your studies and be a good ambassador of Ilupeju Ekiti in your different institutions”
The Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti, Oba Sunday Awe AKINGBADE commended the youth body for contributing to the success of Ilupeju students. He also applauded the award recipients .
Apeju who was represented by his second in command, the Obanla of Ilupeju Ekiti, His Royal Highness, Sunday Ogunsola commended Hon. Oska Aiyeleso and Commandant Ann Kemi Oladayo-Odeleye for their impactful contributions to Ilupeju Ekiti. He said, I am not surprised that the award recipients are being honoured today, they took after their late fathers who devoted their lives to the development and growth of Ilupeju Ekiti when they were alive. Hence, their children have copied their footsteps and they are writing their own history, Ilupeju Ekiti will not forget their contributions in a jiffy.
My candid advice to the students that have received financial assistance today is that they should be diligent in their studies and shun all forms of social vices that can truncate their future. The monarch stated.
Also speaking, Chief Mrs Foluke Ogunleye( Eyetu of Ilupeju Ekiti) and Retired Road Safety Commandant, Falola cautioned the youths against pride and indecent dressing. The duo described indecent dressing and pride as destiny destroyers. They charged the youths to uphold the ethos of a true Ekiti citizens which they said included: Humility, hardwork, obedient, integrity and truthfulness among others..
While given their acceptance speeche, Hon Oska Aiyeleso appreciated the youth body for the award, he promised his continued support for the youths of Ilupeju Ekiti as he tasked them to strive towards excellence and shun vices that could drag their names and that of the town in the mud.
Oska Aiyeleso gave scholarship to a 300 level Medicine student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Olajide Ibrahim Abiodun who has sight problems.
Also, Commandant Ann Kemi Oladayo-Odeleye enjoined the youths to maximize their precious time on profitable ventures. She promised her unflinching support for the growth and development of the town .
Responding on behalf of the students, Rachel Kehinde and Olajide Ibrahim appreciated Oska Aiyeleso, Commandant Ann Kemi and the youth president for given them a new lease of live. They promised to utilize the money judiciously and prayed to God to uplift everyone that has pulled their resources together for the programme.
