The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress candidate, Abiodun Fawekun, winner of Ido/Osi Constituency 1 supplementary election held on Saturday.
INEC Commissioner in the state, Prof. Ayobami Salami, said that Fawekun polled 4,764 votes to defeat the candidates of SDP and PDP thereby returned elected.
Salami, in a statement by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, INEC Ekiti state, Temitope Akanmu, declaring the official result of the election, said that the Social Democratic Party candidate, Muyiwa Fadahunsi polled 4,204 votes to emerge second while Ayodele Awoniyi of Peoples Democratic Party secured 422 votes.
The REC applauded the peaceful conduct of stakeholders and Ekiti people during the election.
However, turnout was low and security officers were on ground to forestall break down of law and order during the election.
