A mini truck driver at BAO Timber Market, Adewusi, Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi Adeleye, has obtained an online loan to purchase and brand a space bus in support of the second-term ambition of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Adeleye, an indigene of Ado-Ekiti who conveys planks at the timber market, disclosed this on Thursday during the unveiling of the branded vehicle at BAO Timber Market, Ado-Ekiti. He said the gesture was borne out of appreciation for what he described as the governor’s people-oriented programmes and developmental achievements across the state.
According to him, the policies and programmes of the Oyebanji administration have positively impacted critical sectors and improved the welfare of residents, thereby earning the support of ordinary citizens.
Explaining his motivation, Adeleye said his decision to invest his personal resources in the governor’s campaign was driven by conviction rather than convenience.
“Despite my struggling condition as a mini truck driver, I felt compelled to support a leader who has performed well across all sectors of governance. The masses are happy with the quality of governance in Ekiti State. If we support him for another four years, he will consolidate on the gains of his first term for the overall good of the people,” he said.

He further explained the financial sacrifices behind the project, noting that determination and discipline made it possible. According to him, the idea was conceived last year but lacked immediate funding. “I started saving from my meagre income, but when it became clear that it would not be enough, I took an online loan to complete the project, believing strongly that I would repay it in good time,” he explained.
Adeleye disclosed that the vehicle was purchased at the cost of ₦3 million, adding that he raised ₦1.4 million from personal savings and borrowed ₦1.6 million, with a monthly interest of ₦302,000, to complete the purchase ahead of the commencement of political campaigns. He added that the branded vehicle would be deployed to mobilise support for Governor Oyebanji across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State. “This vehicle will be used to campaign across the nooks and crannies of Ekiti State. I am ready to propagate the good news to everyone, including opposition supporters. The governor’s achievements are visible for the blind to see and loud enough for the deaf to hear,” he declared.
Expressing confidence in the governor’s re-election, Adeleye predicted a sweeping victory at the polls, saying Governor Oyebanji would record a landslide win across all local government areas.
He also commended the leadership styles of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Comrade Sunday Asefun, describing them as leaders of repute who are committed to impacting lives and prioritising the welfare of citizens.
