The Executive Chairman of Moba Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Fadugba, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, describing it as a landmark development for Ekiti State and the entire nation.
Hon. Fadugba in a statement, also commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his unwavering commitment to the state’s educational advancement, noting that his visionary leadership has continued to attract life-changing projects to Ekiti.
“The approval of this university is a testament to Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to the educational and technological development of our state. His administration has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to positioning Ekiti as a hub for learning, research and innovation,” he stated.
The council boss equally appreciated the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, for his facilitation efforts in ensuring the bill was passed and assented to by President Tinubu.
He described the senator’s role as crucial in bringing the much-needed institution to Iyin-Ekiti, which will serve as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and technological advancement in the region.
The Moba LG Boss emphasized that the new university would provide young people with greater access to quality education, especially in science, technology, and environmental studies, aligning with global trends and national development goals.
“This is a big win for Ekiti State, and we must all appreciate the roles played by Mr. President, Governor Oyebanji and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele in making this dream a reality. Our people must rally around this project to ensure its smooth takeoff and long-term success,” he added.
The establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti was announced by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele after President Tinubu signed the bill into law at the State House last Thursday in Abuja.
