The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Falade Adegoroye Michael, has pledged to stamp out crimes and other vices aimed at ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents across the state.

In his maiden press conference held at the Police Headquarters along Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti on Monday, the Commissioner assured the residents that under his leadership, Ekiti would witness improved security architecture where citizens can go about their lawful activities without fear or intimidation.

He emphasized that effective policing cannot be achieved in isolation, stressing the need for strong collaboration with sister security agencies, local vigilantes, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders. He noted that such synergy remains key to safeguarding lives and property.

The police boss highlighted intelligence-led policing as a major strategy in tackling crime, urging residents to be proactive in sharing useful information. According to him, “When you see something, say something,” adding that information could be channelled not only to the police but also through credible mediums such as traditional rulers and journalists.

He further encouraged community-based security consciousness, calling on residents to know their neighbours and remain vigilant at all times, noting that criminal elements often thrive where there is lack of community cooperation.

CP Falade assured that the command would uphold the rule of law at all times, warning that violation of human rights would not be tolerated under any circumstance.

He reaffirmed his commitment to professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct within the force, stressing that corruption among officers would be decisively dealt with. The Commissioner also promised to prioritise the welfare and capacity development of officers and men of the command, charging them to remain disciplined and committed to their duties.

To enhance rapid response to security challenges, he disclosed plans to strengthen emergency response mechanisms, improve patrol systems, and deploy modern policing tools, including surveillance and intelligence gathering technologies across strategic locations in the state.

CP Falade also called on the media to uphold professionalism by verifying information before publication, especially on sensitive security matters, to avoid misinformation that could undermine public confidence.

While appreciating the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his continued support to the police command, the Commissioner reaffirmed his readiness to work with the state government to sustain peace and stability.
He reiterated his resolve to be tough on all forms of social vices, including cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal activities, assuring that Ekiti would remain one of the safest states in the country.

“The cooperation of residents, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and all stakeholders is crucial. Together, we can build a peaceful society where everyone can live and work freely,” he said.

The new commissioner, commended his predecessor, CP Joseph Eribo for ensuring safety in Ekiti, saying he would try to surpass the achievements of the former CP .
