Three persons have lost their lives in an accident along Itagbanja axis of Idanre Road in Akure, Ondo State.
The accident involved a commercial tricycle, popularly known as ‘Maruwa’ and a truck caused by reckless driving according to eyewitnesses.
Precise news gathered that the accident claimed the lives of a husband and wife on the spot while the third person died on the way to hospital . The driver of the truck was said to have fled the scene for fear of being lynched by irate mob but later shown up at the B Division Police Station in Oke Aro and has been arrested.
The corpses of the victims have been deposited in the morgue while efforts to get an official reaction of the police command were not successful due to the volatile and unfortunate situation.
