A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Adesola Adeboro, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his unanimous affirmation as the party’s flag bearer for the 2026 governorship election.
Otunba Adeboro, in a congratulatory message personally signed and made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, described the unanimous affirmation of Governor Oyebanji by the 885 accredited delegates across the 16 local government areas of the state as a clear reflection of the governor’s sterling leadership qualities, transparent governance, and inclusive style that has brought peace, development, and renewed confidence to the people of Ekiti State.
He said the seamless process that led to the affirmation was a testament to the governor’s performance, humility, and integrity, which have endeared him to the people and solidified the unity of the APC in Ekiti.
According to Adeboro, the overwhelming endorsement “is well-earned, well-deserved, and unprecedented in the political history of Ekiti State.” He noted that Governor Oyebanji has set a new standard for leadership and participatory democracy, ensuring that the dividends of democracy are felt by all categories of citizens across the state.
While appreciating the APC delegates and members for upholding peace, unity, and democratic principles, Otunba Adeboro lauded them for embracing modern-day politics of merit, excellence, and performance rather than politics of division or self-interest. He stressed that Ekiti State, under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, has remained a model of stability and good governance for other states in the federation to emulate.
He commended the governor’s numerous achievements, especially in infrastructure, agriculture, education, health, and human capital development, noting that the state had witnessed tremendous progress and visibility under Oyebanji’s administration.
Adeboro further charged the people of Ikole-Ekiti, who have been staunch supporters of the governor, to renew their strength and commitment toward ensuring a resounding victory for the APC and Governor Oyebanji in the forthcoming 2026 governorship election. He pledged to mobilize more support and resources to sustain the governor’s developmental vision for Ekiti State.
He also expressed appreciation to all party leaders at the state and national levels who played key roles in making the affirmation process seamless and rancor-free. Adeboro prayed that God would grant every stakeholder and APC members long life, strength, and opportunity to reap the fruits of their decision and sacrifices made during the historic APC Congress/ primary election held on October 27, 2025, at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti.
Otunba Adeboro reaffirmed his belief that Governor Oyebanji’s re-election will further consolidate the gains of good governance, deepen democratic values, and sustain the progressive ideals of the APC in Ekiti State.
“The people of Ekiti have seen genuine leadership, and the 2026 election will be a reaffirmation of our collective trust in Governor Oyebanji’s competence, character, and commitment to a better Ekiti,” he added.
