A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikole Ekiti, Otunba Adesola Adeboro, has called on residents of Ikole Ekiti to take full advantage of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across Ekiti State.
In a statement made available to journalists , Adeboro urged eligible voters who have not registered, those seeking to transfer their voting units , as well as individuals whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) lost or damaged, to promptly visit their respective wards and complete the process. He noted that the CVR exercise, which will take place in the 177 wards in Ekiti from Monday 16th February to 25th February, 2026.
Otunba Adeboro said the exercise provides a convenient opportunity for residents to register in their communities, eliminating the previous stress of travelling long distances to INEC offices.
“This is a golden opportunity for our people, especially in Ikole Constituency I, to ensure they are not disenfranchised in future elections. INEC has made the process easier by bringing the registration to the ward level. We must utilise it fully,” he said.
Adeboro also charged political leaders and stakeholders in Ikole to mobilise members and eligible residents to participate actively in the exercise, stressing that voter registration remains a civic responsibility that strengthens democracy.
While encouraging members and supporters of the APC to turn out in large numbers, he said increased participation would further boost the party’s strength in the constituency.
“Our leaders must take this seriously and rally our people. The strength of any political party lies in its numbers. I urge all APC members and supporters to seize this opportunity to register, update their details, and remain committed to the democratic process,” he added.
Otunba Adeboro reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots political engagement and urged residents not to wait until the deadline before taking action.
