In preparation for Ekiti state Local Government and Local Council Development Areas’ Election on Saturday 2nd December, 2023, the All Progressives Congress in Oye Local Government, Ifeloju and Ifesowapo Local Council Development Areas’, Ilupeju and Isan Ekiti on Wednesday rolled out drums and canvassed for votes across the towns .
The All Progressives Congress led by its chairman, Chief Ogunsakin Samuel Oloye and other party leaders in Oye Local Government, Chairmanship candidates, Vice chairmen and Councillorship candidates in their different attires accompanied by thousands of their supporters in a carnival like visited all the towns and villages that make up Oye Local Government with mobile band following them around.
At exactly 9:am the campaign train stormed Ayegbaju Ekiti, passed through Oye- Itaji – Ayede -Isan- ilemeso- Omu -Ijelu- Itapa- Osin- Ire and finally settled at Ilupeju Ekiti for mother of all rallies. At each town visited, the three Chairmanship candidates, Vice chairmen, twelve councillors were introduced to the residents of the Communities with the promise to genuinely look after welfare of residents and develop their communities.
The APC Chairman in Oye Local Government at every towns and wards visited reiterated love and co-operation as panacea for Sterling performances of chairmen in their various jurisdictions and pleaded with the aggrieved members during the electioneering processess that finally settled for the emergence of candidates that they should forget the past and Support the candidates of the party. He assured all members of immense benefits.
The Chairmanship candidates were; Mr OluSola Michael Oniyelu for Ifeloju Local Council Development Area, Ilupeju Ekiti, Chief (Mrs) Adesola Bamisile for Oye Local Government and Hon. Ajibola Muyiwa Olabode for Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area, Isan Ekiti. Each of them appreciated their acceptance and solicited unflinching support of their people towards a virile leadership that would transcend to massive developments of their local councils and well-being of the masses.
At Ilupeju Ekiti, over two hundred opposition members defected to All Progressives Congress at the instance of the chairmanship candidate, OluSola Oniyelu, whom some of the decampes attributed to his ethos of OMOLUABI. Adding that the Chairmanship candidate has been a grassroot politician with massive mobilization prowees even before his emergence as the candidate of the party.
While receiving the decampes, APC party leaders assured them of equal treatment without any discrimination between old and new members. On his part, the Chairmanship candidate for Ifeloju LCDA, Ilupeju Ekiti promised to monitor them progress in the party, saying they would not be given back seat but would always carry them along for the growth and development of Ifeloju LCDA.
Mr OluSola Oniyelu called on residents of Ifeloju to turn out enmass to exercise their franchise on 2nd Dec, 2023 for the consolidation of good works that’s going on in the LCDA.
