Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on Tuesday appeared before the seven-member All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee in Abuja, as part of the party’s preparations for its governorship primary election scheduled for October 27, 2025.
The screening committee, chaired by Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, is saddled with the responsibility of scrutinising aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the upcoming election.
Governor Oyebanji, who is seeking re-election, arrived at the venue in the company of a high-powered delegation of political leaders and stakeholders from Ekiti State. The delegation included the Chairman of the Southwest Development Commission (SWDC), Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi; Senator Yemi Adaramodu (Ekiti South); Senator Cyril Fasuyi (Ekiti North); Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye; and several members of the National and State Assembly.

Also present were Hon. Kolawole Akinlayo, AVM Niyi Ojuawo (rtd.), Hon. Wunmi Ogunlola, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju, Prince Wole Ajakaiye, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Hon. Segun Dipe, and Engr. Dipo Bamisaye of the EKSU Alumni Support Group, among others.
The governor’s appearance before the committee marks a key step in the APC’s internal process.
