Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has described the late former Ido/ Osi Local Government Chairman, Hon Adegoroye Olayisade, as an icon of honour, contentment and integrity.
Oyebanji, described the demise of the Ido Ekiti Prince as saddening and painful to Ekiti State government and the entire citizens, taking cognisance of his illustrious contributions to the development at the grassroots as a politician and community leader.
Oyebanji, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, gave the accolades, on Thursday, during his visit to the family of the deceased, following his death.
Olayisade, a respectable politician and statesman, died on Thursday at the age of 85.
The government’s high-powered delegation, led by Prof. Adubiaro, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Olayisade, a respected elder statesman and community leader.
The government’s delegation included: the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Niyi Adebayo, and the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo, among other top government officials.
During the visit, Oyebanji conveyed heartfelt condolences and warm greetings to the deceased’s family, urging them to take solace in the superb legacy their patriarch left in the hearts of the people.
“Prince Adegoroye Olayisade was a royal personage. A man of contentment and honour. He served well when the opportunity beckoned. I am indeed proud of his achievements. May the good Lord grant his soul eternal rest”.
Speaking during the condolence visit, the Governor’s Chief of Staff , Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, who is from Ido/Osi Local Government Area, described the late Olayisade as a man whose legacies will be difficult to erase in the council.
Adebayo prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the huge loss, while appreciating Governor Oyebanji for showing sympathies with the family at this trying moment .
The Chief of Staff said the government of Ekiti State will continue to appreciate the contributions of the late Olayisade to grassroots development, where his imprints were boldly engraved as a former Chairman, who proved his mettle and sagacity as an administrator.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, saluted the deceased for showing leadership to the progressive fold during his active days as a politician, saying this will guide the upcoming politicians from Ido-Osi/Ilejemeje/Moba Federal Constituency to be good leaders in the state.
The family received the visit with deep appreciation and expressed gratitude to the Governor and the entire State Government for the show of love and solidarity during this difficult time.
