Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has paid glowing tribute to the Deputy Speaker, Ekiti Youth Parliament, Miss Oluwadamilola Agbaje, who passed on earlier this month.
Governor Oyebanji on Friday sent a high-powered delegation on a condolence visit to the family of Late Miss Agbaje following her untimely death which sent waves of shock across youth and leadership communities in Ekiti and beyond.
Leading the delegation and speaking on behalf of Mr. Governor, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Adesola Gold, described the late Damilola as a shining star, a vibrant young woman who embodied purpose, excellence, and leadership.
Oyebanji maintained that she was not just a voice in the Youth Parliament; but was a symbol of rising strength, deeply admired by her peers and respected by mentors.
In honour of her legacy, the Ekiti Youth Parliament, with the full approval and support of Governor Oyebanji, is set to hold a special parliamentary sitting in her memory.
According to him, “plans are also underway to collaborate with organizations and institutions she was affiliated with to implement memorial initiatives that would preserve her contributions and impact for future generations.
“While her death reminds us of the fragility of life, it also compels us to celebrate her legacy, a life that, though short, was filled with brilliance, impact, and meaning.”
