Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, will on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, inaugurate the reappointed Commissioners and Special Advisers who recently scaled through the screening and confirmation process of the State House of Assembly.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Ado-Ekiti by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode. According to the statement, the inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold at Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, by 4:00 p.m.
Governor Oyebanji had last week forwarded the names of 18 former Commissioners to the Assembly for screening. Those on the list include: Prof. Bolaji Aluko, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Mr. Akintunde Oyebode, Mr. Ajobiewe Kolawole, Chief Folorunso Olabode, Otunba Dolamu Adeniyi, Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, Mrs. Peju Babafemi, Mr. Atibioke Ojo Olaiya, Chief (Mrs.) Tosin Aluko, and Mr. Awe Abimbola Olufemi.
Others are: Prof. Patrick Tedela, Mr. Seun Fakuade, Mr. Adedayo Gold Adesola, Dr. Kareem Makanjuola Akande, Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare, Hon. Kayode Fasae, and Hon. Femi Ajayi.
The Governor has also approved the appointment of Mr. Bunmi Talabi as Special Adviser. Until his new appointment, Talabi served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Projects.
In addition, Special Advisers affected by the August 10, 2025 dissolution of the State Executive Council have been recalled and will be inaugurated alongside the Commissioners. They are: Chief Jide Awe, Arch. Tope Ogunleye, Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle, Mr. Gbenga Oloniyo, Mrs. Oluremi Babington, Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Olaleye, Hon. Abiola Olowokere, Mr. Akinleye Sunday, and Mr. Ayeni Odunayo Adeola.
It will be recalled that following the dissolution of the cabinet, a few Commissioners and Special Advisers were retained due to the critical nature of their responsibilities.
The decision to recall all former members of the dissolved Executive Council was reached jointly by the leadership and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who advised the Governor to present the former appointees for re-confirmation. According to them, bringing in an entirely new team ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election could be counterproductive for the party and the administration.
