The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has approved 25,00O naira as a minimum pension for Pensioners in the state.
The Chairman Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade James Osuntade and the union’s Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Abatan disclosed this in a statement jointly signed and made available to journalists on Wednesday.
The statement said payment takes effect from January, 2025. Also noted that the 33% pension increment which was supposed to have been implemented since 2010, consequential adjustment to pension, 20% on pensions across board and part of 32,000 naira pension increment across board have been factored in by OYO State Governor, Seyi MAKINDE..
While appreciating the governor for his love and commitment towards the welfare of pensioners in OYO State, the duo prayed God to uphold and continually elevate the governor politically.
