The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), has honored Professor Babatunde Olofinbiyi, with an Award of Excellence following his exemplary mentoring style in the medical community.
At a recently held 23rd Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the association the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Ekiti State Chapter, Dr. Oreyemi Ifedayo, while presenting the award eulogised Prof. Olofinbiyi for cementing his influence and respect within the medical community.
In a statement made available to newsmen in AdoEkiti, the Director of Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility of _ADOLFIRC_ , Tosin Olowo, noted that the Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care (ADOLFRIC; adolfric.org.ng ) proudly celebrates the monumental achievement of its CEO, as Prof. Olofinbiyi became the first medical doctor from Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) to receive this prestigious accolade from FETHI’s resident doctors.
Olowo noted that Dr. Oreyemi Ifedayo, extolled the uncommon virtues of Prof. Olofinbiyi as a “human builder” and “blind lover of young doctors, describing him as an “unbeatable welfarist” whose unusual dedication to the welfare, growth, and development of young doctors has left an indelible mark in the medical community.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Prof. Olofinbiyi expressed profound gratitude, describing the award as a “surprise package.” He shared his amazement at being recognized by resident doctors outside his immediate domain, a gesture he considered both humbling and motivating.

He emphasized the importance of aligning with the recommendations highlighted in the conference’s lecture theme, _“Physician, Heal Thyself: Prioritizing Mental Health in Medicine.”_
