President Muhammadu Buhari has swore in seven newly appointed ministers that were recently confirmed by the Senate.
While performing the ceremony, the president urged the ministerial appointees to consider their emergence as a call to duty which demands diligent service to the nation.
The president administered oath of office on the ministers before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The ministers were assigned portfolio thus:Umar Ibrahim El Yakub (Kano) – Minister of State Works and Housing, Goodluck Nanah Opiah (Imo), Minister of State Education, Ekumankama Joseph Nkama (Ebonyi), Minister of State Heath, Ikoh Henry Ikechukwu (Abia), Minister of State, Science and Technology, Odum Udi(Rivers)- Minister of State, Environment, and Ademola Adewole Adegoroye (Ondo)- Minister of State, Transportation,
Umana Okon(Akwa -Ibom)- Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
Also, president Buhari did a minor reshuffle of his cabinet: Gbemisola Saraki was moved from Transportation to Minister for State Mines and Steel, Olorunimbe Mammora moved from Health to Minister of State, Science and Technology, Sharon Ikeazor moved from Environment to Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs.
Others are Muazu Jaji Sambo, Minister of Transportation.
The new ministers replaced those who resigned their appointments to contest for various elective offices prior to APC primary elections in preparation for 2023 general election.
