President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a glowing tribute to his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 65th birthday, describing her as his “steadying anchor” through the seasons of life.
In a heartfelt message released from the State House on Sunday, the President celebrated the First Lady not only as his wife but also as a confidant, counsellor, and a symbol of strength and compassion.
“Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile to the demands of leadership, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express,” President Tinubu said.
He praised Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s quiet sacrifices and contributions to the nation, noting that while many may never fully know the depth of her service, her impact has been immense.
“In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home,” he added.
The President also commended her role as First Lady, saying her warmth and empathy continue to touch millions of lives across Nigeria.
“As your husband, I thank God for your life, health, and unwavering love. As your President, I salute you as the First Lady whose example shines brightly for our nation. And as your lifelong companion, I say I love you more than ever, and I am blessed every day by your presence,” he wrote.
President Tinubu prayed for more years of joy, peace, and fulfilment for the celebrant.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a former three-term senator representing Lagos Central, is the first Nigerian First Lady to have served in the National Assembly before assuming her current role.
