The Executive Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board Prof. Femi Akinwumi has expressed his warmest congratulations to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his election as the APC consensus candidate ahead of the 2026 governorship poll in the state.
Prof. Akinwumi in a statement described the process as a testament to the party’s commitment to orderliness, transparency and display of good internal democracy.
According to him, the governor’s leadership qualities, inclusive governance and proven performances in all the 6 – point agenda of his administration has earned him the ticket.
He noted that Governor Oyebanji’s administration has transformed basic education in Ekiti State, with notable achievements in appointment of 1,500 primary school teachers, reducing classroom congestion and improving teacher-pupil interaction.
He applauded the governor over Improved infrastructure, including construction and renovation of classrooms, procurement of furniture, and provision of facilities.
The SUBEB Boss also commended Governor Oyebanji on Payment of car and housing loans to teachers in order to boost their welfare and morale, adding that back-to-back payment of counterpart funds to UBEC has continued to ensure smooth implementation of UBEC/SUBEB programs in the state
He commented the process of the party’s primary election which was peaceful and devoid of political rancours among delegates, showcasing the acceptability of the Governor by all and sundry.
While affirming that Oyebanji’s vision for education will undoubtedly propel Ekiti to greater heights, Prof. Akinwumi wished him success in the forthcoming election, expressing optimism of more achievements under his administration.
