The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has advised members of the City Boy Movement to project the image of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu positively and with honesty ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.
Mrs Afuye praised the Pro-Tinubu group for their commitment and political savviness, particularly the way they have started grassroots mobilisation within the short time they were inaugurated in the state.
The Deputy Governor gave the charge, on Monday, while playing host to members of the City Boy Movement, Ekiti chapter, at her office in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.
Applauding the members of the Movement for being zealous in their solid backing for the President and by extension to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Mrs Afuye appealed to them to consider the task as a selfless service and avenue to build their political future.
She said it would be a herculean task for all of them to be rewarded with monetary or political positions, urging them to perceive the task as a sacrificial national assignment predicated on ensuring reelection of President Tinubu in the larger interest of the country.
“As Ekiti indigenes who took interest in becoming members of the City Boy Movement, I am indeed happy that you are elevating and projecting the image of President Tinubu.
“This is because the projects being executed in Ekiti State by Governor Oyebanji were made possible by the support we are getting from the president .
“Please, don’t listen to those that will say you will be used and dumped. You are laying a foundation for yourself and for your future in politics.
“I looked at your numbers and realised that it will be difficult for all of you to be compensated immediately with political positions. But see this as a selfless service. See it as a way to build your future and the future of this country. See this project as your own project.
“President Tinubu has done well for Nigeria and Ekiti State in particular. I know that come June 20,2026 governorship election, Governor Oyebanji will win the governorship election, with your support and other Ekiti residents.
“I want you to do this job with sincerity, sacrifice and integrity. God will help you to succeed”.
The State Director of the Movement, Mr. Olufemi Kasali, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tanimola Kolade, said the reelection of President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji remains their priority agenda, saying the good works of these leaders won’t be allowed to be aborted by desperate politicians.
Kasali said the movement’s mission and vision, is to work assiduously to propagate the vision and accomplishments of President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji to Nigerians, for their second term bids to be seamless and frictionless.
He said President Tinubu had done exceedingly well in his efforts to rescue Nigeria from economic doldrums and deprivation, this he said, informed their involvement in the movement to work tirelessly for his reelection.
Kasali was upbeat that President Tinubu’s second term will benefit Nigerians, by ways of consolidating governance and democratic growth to accomplish the set objective of building a good future for the nation.
“Come June 20, 2026, we will deliver nothing less than 500,000 votes for Governor Biodun Oyebanji and in 2027, we will deliver higher votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appreciate them for their performances as leaders” .
