The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has lauded the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji’s superlative performance through execution of projects that were changing the landscape and making the state epicentre of development.
The students’ body, who expressed support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term ambition, paid glowing tribute to the governor’s elevation of prudent management of resources, comparing the quantum and standards of projects executed to the revenues that accrued to the state in the last three and half years.
NANS handed down the commendations during a tour of projects executed by Governor Oyebanji’s administration and coordinated by its Southwest Treasurer, Comr. Femi Samuel Asaolu , among other top echelon of the body.
Major projects inspected were the newly built Ekiti Revenue House (EKIRS), the 1.2km Ado Ekiti flyover, the 18 kms Ado Ekiti ring road phase 1, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti State University, among others.
They reaffirmed the collective support of students in Ekiti State for the Governor’s re-election, emphasizing that continuity in leadership is essential to sustaining the pace of development and achieving even greater progress in the years ahead.
The tour, which brought together student leaders from across the state, according to Comrade Asaolu, was designed to provide firsthand insight into the ongoing infrastructural and developmental projects executed by the state government.
Speaking while touring the flyover, the students’ leader, described the project as a critical infrastructure aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing urban renewal policy of the current administration.
At the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), the participants observed that the modern hospital facility, reflecting a major investment in quality healthcare delivery.
Specifically, Comrade Asaolu was of the view that the well-equipped ICT center at the College of Nursing, Ado-Ekiti, recognized as one of the best in the Southwest, alongside the advanced ICT infrastructure at Ekiti State University (EKSU), are pivotal to enhancing digital education in the state.
The Asaolu-led team, who inspected the ring road linking major campuses, was optimistic that the measure will help in easing transportation challenges , as well as boost access to the Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, a project poised to boost economic growth and global connectivity.
At the YSJ Farms dotted across different locations within the state , the students lauded the government for packaging a programme that was re-engaging the youth in agriculture toward youth empowerment and accomplishment of food security status.
In the area of education, the students visited some schools and described the modern classroom structures in secondary schools and several other impactful projects as a deliberate commitment to develop the sector that had earned Ekiti respect and honour globally.
Asaolu commended the Governor for the visible and impactful strides recorded so far, noting that the projects directly benefit students and young people, improving both learning conditions and overall welfare.
