The Ekiti State Government has said that philanthropic gestures such as donations of health commodities and medical equipment by public spirited individuals will further complement ongoing efforts of the Administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to enhance healthcare delivery in the State
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr Oyebanji Filani stated this during the donation of a brand new Toyota Sienna Ambulance to the General Hospital Ijesa-Isu Ekiti by Dr Remi Bamisile Health Foundation.
Dr Filani noted that the donation aligned with Governor Oyebanji’s initiative to renovate and equip all healthcare facilities across the state.
While commending Dr Bamisile for the kind gesture, the commissioner called on other capable individuals to emulate the donor noting that such collaborative efforts would further promote and improve the health and well being of residents of the state.
In his remarks at the event, the pioneer Depeuty Governor of Ekiti State and an indigene of Ijesa-Isu Ekiti , Chief Paul Alabi said the the gift was not merely a contribution of resources but an investment in health and well being of the people.
Chief Alabi commended the donor for such a community-driven development and selfless service.
In his address, the donor of the Ambulance , Dr Remi Bamisile said that the presentation which was done to mark his 70th birthday represents his commitment to improve healthcare delivery in the community and the state at large.
Dr Bamisile noted that the ambulance will greatly enhance the hospital’s emergency response capabilities as well as ensuring timely medical attention for the residents of the Local Government and its surroundings.
In their goodwill messages, the Regent of Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, HRM Bolaji Adeniyi, Chairman Hospital’s Management Board, Dr Austine Ibikunle, Permanent Secretaries Ministry of Health, Hospital’s Management Board Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun and Dr Olasunkanmi Alabi respectively and the Chairman of the Kajola Local Council Development, Mr Ajayi Adebayo lauded the donor’s gesture saying that the presentation was both a commitment to health sector and humanity.
